China Unicom has made it official … October 30th will be iPhone launch day in China.
At a Sept 28 press conference, China Unicom executives outlined plans for their forthcoming iPhone launch, but the held tight to launch details, saying only that iPhone would go on sale at the end of the month. While price/plans rates have now be released, there are still a number of features and services that have yet to be fully unveiled. Recent leaks suggest that iPhones for China might include advanced 3G services such as SIM card-swipe (“wave-to-pay”) and Mobile TV. The new “Wo” portal, specially built to support iPhone also hints at China Unicom’s ambitious plans.
