South Korean carrier KT has a hit on their hands! The iPhone is in hot demand and authorized retailers are quickly selling out of their allocations. The popularity of iPhone has taken many South Korean technology pundits by surprise. Particularly given the mobile phone hegemony heretofore enjoyed by South Korean handset manufacturers Samsung and LG.

Thousands of South Korean iPhone fans are now queuing up for the Saturday, Nov. 28 iPhone launch event sponsored by Apple and KT. The launch festivities will begin at 2 p.m. local time in the Jamsil Arena, one of the 1988 Olympic sites. See photos below.

China Unicom and Apple will launch the iPhone in China at The Place in Beijing. The centrally located shopping/entertainment venue is in the midst of final preparations for the launch event scheduled for tomorrow – Friday October 30th 2009.
