Photos of the November 28th iPhone launch event are now being published to the Net. Many hundreds of South Korean iPhone fans braved the cold and lined up to for a chance to purchase one of the first 1,000 iPhones to be sold in South Korea. The launch ceremonies were held on Saturday afternoon at the Jamsil Arena.
More than 60,000 iPhones have now been pre-ordered in South Korea making this an auspicious iPhone kickoff for Apple and Korean carrier KT.
KT is subsidizing the iPhone for those who go on contract. The 32GB iPhone 3GS is priced at 396,000 won ($338) for subscribers who choose a monthly plan at 45,000 won (USD $38). Subscribers who choose a plan with more calling minutes and data at 65,000 won (USD $55) can get the phone for 264,000 won (USD $225). Premium plan subscribers (max calling minutes and data) at 132,000 won (USD $113) will get the phone for free.
